Coronavirus prayng hands

The church is people not buildings. Common Ground is a mission community whose calling is summarised in the three words: Pray, Together and Go. We aim to provide a welcome whether you are a Christian, wondering what faith means or sceptical.
The restriction on meetings because of the Coronavirus (COVID 19) means we are not currently holding our usual programme of events and meetings. However "services are suspended" does not mean that we have suspended praying or our mission activity. Far from it.

We have a community "office of prayer" which we aim to say daily. This might also be a good opportunity to try prayer walking!

There are many online opportunities to join in services other resources available to help you pray. Common Ground also plans to meet together "virtually" as a mission community even if we cannot meet together physically in the same place. Our Spirituality section is a good place to start to find resources to help you pray and you might also like to explore the Seasons section. You can find our 2019 Lent Reflections, with paintings by Daniel Bonnell here

The cathedral and local churches (see below) have had to close but if you visit their websites and facebook pages you can still find some livestream services, inspirational pictures and photos, recorded music and activities for children.  This includes resources for the Lent and Easter season.  The websites also tell you what people are doing to care for each other as local communities.
