	A commitment to praying for Guildford, the community and the needs of the world, is central to the Common Ground Guildford mission community. Some resources for praying for Guildford and prayers of blessing and encouragement are below.

	You can find our daily prayer card here (it is sometimes called a daily "office"). The community commitment day service is on the "join in" page.  There is also information in the Spirituality section.

	Prayers of blessing and encouragement
	Christ under me;
	Christ over me;
	Christ beside me
	on my left and my right.
	May Christ be in the heart of each to whom I speak;
	In the mouth of each who speaks to me.
	Christ as a light;
	Christ as a shield:
	Christ beside me
	on my left and my right. AMEN

	May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm on your face. May the rains fall softly upon your fields until we meet again. May God hold you in the hollow of his hand. Old Gaelic blessing.

	The Lord bless you and watch over you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord look kindly on you and give you peace. AMEN

	Into our world of darkness
	Into our places of strife
	Into our troubles and weakness
	Come Lord
	Into our joys and celebrations
	Into our homes and to our loved ones
	Into our work and our achievements
	Come Lord
	To those who are in need,
	To those who are in sickness
	To those who are in despair
	Come Lord
	AMEN
