Vigil for Ukraine
Night Vision is usually on the third Friday in the month (from 20:00 to 23:00) however, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, we have used the Night Vision time and other Fridays for a Vigil from 21:00-23:00. Please check the Calendar under Resources as times vary from week to week.
The Friday vigils started the day after Putin’s invasion in February 2022. Since then over 3,500 people have come into St Mary's – some just for a few minutes to light a candle, others staying for much longer spells to pray, reflect, have a chat, tell us about their experiences. Most are quite surprised to find themselves coming into a church during their night out in Guildford but all leave appreciative and with Ukraine in their minds.
On Friday 24 February we will hold the Vigil as usual but will also mark the anniversary with a service just beforehand starting at 20:00. Flyer attached here.
Everyone is welcome.

Some words of encouragement
May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm on your face. May the rains fall softly upon your fields until we meet again. May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
Old Gaelic blessing.
